My favorite type of "Lies, damn lies, and statistics" is when a graph is framed to convey a point that the data doesn't conclude.

An example would be a line graph that shows a roller coaster shift over time, but the Y-axis is something like between 800 and 820. If the graph was shown between 0 and 1,000, the "raucous" line would look almost straight.

As they say, 80%* of all statistics are made up.
